This album has the recent music works of the famous French composer Gilles Gambus. Mr. Gambus worked for many years as conductor, arranger and pianist of the Paul Mauriat Grand Orchestra. Recordings of that orchestra were used countless times in figure skating competitions, ice dancing, rhythmic gymnastics, sports swimming and roller-skating around the world. This music continues to be popular today.
“This album is the result of a long experience that I shared with Paul Mauriat. This is an expression of my gratitude for everything he has brought me”, Gilles Gambus mused.
In 2019, Maestro Gambus, in a partnership with Lobomarca Produções from Brazil, created a large project “Great French Orchestras. He performed his own music, as well as arrangements and compositions by Frank Pourcell, Paul Mauriat, Raymond Lefevre, Michel Legrand and Francis Lai. Also, the program included arrangements of classical music and melodies of Brazilian composers. This project enjoyed great success while touring South America.

Currently, Gilles Gambus is actively working in France and Japan, creating vivid original compositions and arrangements. Therefore, the new album is called Paris – Tokyo. “It combines colors and musical cultures”, commented Maestro Gambus. The beautiful romantic music of this album has a fresh sound, modern rhythm and a very positive mood. Pay particular attention to Gambus’s catchy arrangements of Gabriel Faure’s Kitty Waltz, Eric Satie’s Hymnopedia and Mozart’s Concerto No. 4.
